Visual Context Shifts with Mode Selection

2025.09.29Technical Log#product-ui#content

Redesigned the background system so color and gradient dynamically update when the user switches modes, with smooth fade transitions between states.

In the previous implementation, the background remained a single fixed tone regardless of the selected mode. Distinct modes such as healing and meditation lacked visual differentiation, which weakened the signal to users that switching modes meant entering a meaningfully different context.

This update connects mode state directly to background visuals. The background color and gradient are now determined by the active mode, and transitions between modes use a fade rather than an abrupt cut, eliminating the jarring boundary that appeared when switching.

The moment screen was also updated in the same pass. The top section now collapses and expands with scroll in a natural flow, button placement was reorganized to clarify visual hierarchy, and the mini player position was adjusted to maintain consistency with surrounding UI elements.

Parameters such as transition speed and fade duration are not visually prominent, but they directly govern the coherence of the mode-switching experience.
