Removing a Mode Entry from the Navigation

2025.10.14Technical Log#product-ui#sleep#playback

Removed an unused navigation entry and restructured the pre-sleep flow into a single cohesive routine.

There are times when organizing the structure of a screen matters more than adding features. When discovery, playback, and the pre-sleep flow each behave differently, users encounter confusion at the point of entry. This update removed an unused mode entry from both the screen and the navigation path. Retaining unused modes blurs the boundaries of the remaining features.

The primary focus was UI consistency. The mini player and content cards were aligned to a common rendering standard, and lock screen and Now Playing remote controls were synchronized with the internal playback state. Any mismatch between visible controls and actual playback state directly reduces the reliability of the user experience.

The pre-sleep flow was also restructured. Content selection, alarm configuration, and sleep duration tracking now connect as a single continuous routine rather than isolated steps. Reducing the number of decisions required during nighttime use directly improves usability. The overall result is a cleaner surface where the remaining features are more clearly defined.
