Restructuring Screens Around Scenes

2025.11.14Technical Log#product-ui#sleep#playback

Reorganized UI screens from feature-list layouts to scene-based structures, improving entry clarity across key flows.

Listing features without hierarchy makes it difficult for users to orient themselves on first entry. The objective of this work was to ensure each screen reads as a single, coherent scene. Rather than adding new functionality, the focus was on revisiting the arrangement and sequencing of existing elements.

Explore, library, and mode screens were reviewed against a consistent standard and reorganized around scene units, with attention to continuity across screen transitions. The sleep screen was restructured to present pre-sleep content selection, alarm configuration, and session saving as a unified flow, improving the coherence of the overall routine.

On the playback side, internal state handling inconsistencies were addressed. Short-video playback start is now treated as an explicit signal, loading state logic was simplified, and the gap during track transitions was reduced. Visual and audio synchronization in the preview experience was also corrected.

The primary success criterion was that a first-time user can identify the purpose of each screen without additional explanation.
