Aligning Screens Around a Unified Visual Language

2025.11.30Technical Log#product-ui#content#ops-tools

Resolved inconsistent entry patterns and display rules across key flows, establishing a shared standard for content presentation throughout the app.

From the initial app launch through short-form video browsing, sleep content selection, and alarm flows, each screen had been operating under different display rules. This work prioritized consistency across flows over depth on any single feature.

The splash-to-onboarding transition, video browsing rhythm, and the path from sleep content selection to alarm were realigned to a common standard. Fragmented display rules were consolidated so that moments, insts, and recommendations render under a single consistent set of criteria. Content access conditions — including the scope of freely available content — were brought in line with the same standard.

Internal content tooling was also improved. The authoring, review, and publishing workflow was refined to shorten the feedback loop between editorial decisions and what appears in the app. Consistent screen quality depends on the production interface and content operations sharing the same criteria.

The measure of success was not the completion of individual features, but the coherence of the experience across a full end-to-end pass through the app.
