Aligning Presentation and State at Screen Entry

2025.12.02Technical Log#product-ui#content#playback

Refined screen structure and state synchronization so that UI presentation and playback state are consistent the moment a screen is entered.

As screens accumulate features, users tend to read each element as an item in a list rather than as part of a coherent context. This work focused not on adding surface area but on restructuring screens to read as a single, unified scene.

Changes were concentrated in the presentation layer. Visual separation between the playback status indicator and adjacent elements was reduced. Inconsistent display criteria across the moment, inst, recommendation, and discovery surfaces were unified. The flow from pre-sleep content selection through to alarm was adjusted to remove step discontinuities.

State consistency was addressed alongside presentation. When audio, video, and mounted playback state diverge at screen entry, the perceived experience breaks regardless of how clean the UI appears. Synchronization and cache were aligned so that both layers reflect the same state at the moment a screen is entered, ensuring a coherent and reliable entry experience.
