Consistent Playback State Across All Control Points

2026.02.12Technical Log#product-ui#playback#content

Resolved state inconsistencies across lock screen, mini player, and notification controls, and addressed layout errors in browse and friction in onboarding flows.

Playback extends beyond the in-app interface. The lock screen, notification area, and mini player all serve as control surfaces for the same session, and each must reflect accurate, consistent state. Discrepancies across these points — while individually minor — degrade the overall perception of product quality.

This update aligns lock screen and notification remote controls with the mini player so that all surfaces share a single source of playback truth. Track information now displays consistently regardless of which control point the user accesses. In the browse view, card boundary spacing errors were corrected and card widths normalized to produce a uniform layout grid.

The initial user flow was also reviewed. Onboarding copy from the splash screen forward was revised for clarity, and the account name editing screen was improved to reduce friction for new users. Playback consistency and a clean first-run experience are foundational to sustained product reliability.
