Polishing the Rough Edges After Launch

2026.04.07Technical Log#product-ui#content#diary

Aligned the surfaces users encounter first — splash, onboarding, mini player, and diary — to a single quality standard.

The focus immediately after launch was not on adding features but on achieving consistency across existing surfaces. The splash screen, onboarding flow, mini player, and diary — the areas users interact with most frequently and earliest — were reviewed to ensure they operated by the same standards.

The scope of changes was broad, but the direction was singular. Moment and inst content, along with recommendation and discovery surfaces, had been handled under different display rules; these were unified. The diary flow was corrected so that the recording experience and per-language font rendering stayed aligned. Localized strings were reviewed across screens where inconsistencies existed, and critical paths such as purchase and permission handling — where inconsistency directly affects user trust — were audited as part of the same pass.

This work does not transform individual screens in isolation. Its effect is an app that behaves as though it was built to a single standard throughout. The period immediately after launch is the stage where that baseline is established and refined.
