One Track Across Three Surfaces
The lock screen, mini player, and main player now share a single playback state, eliminating inconsistencies across control surfaces.
Playback state surfaces simultaneously across three entry points: the lock screen remote control, the mini player, and the main player. When each surface maintains independent state, the result is delayed pause responses, mismatched now-playing metadata, and an inconsistent listening experience. These discrepancies do not appear in feature specifications but were among the most frequently observed quality issues after launch.
The fix consolidates audio and video playback state, the currently loaded track, and externally exposed now-playing information into a single source of truth. Fast-scroll browsing, track replacement, and video transition sequences all operate against the same state reference.
On the content side, moment and inst entries, along with recommendation and discovery surfaces, were aligned to a consistent display standard. Audio effects and reverb quality were also improved. The result is a guarantee that any control surface reflects the same playback state and content quality at all times.
