Refining Every User-Facing Surface, from Launch Screen to Lock Screen
Addressed consistency and quality gaps across early user touchpoints—splash, onboarding, lock screen playback info, and content visibility rules.
A newly released product can be functionally sound yet still carry unfinished edges across its user-facing surfaces. This work focused on the touchpoints users encounter first: the splash screen and onboarding flow on initial launch, and the lock screen Now Playing display during active playback.
On the UI side, several screens were restructured around content flow rather than feature enumeration. Video transition smoothness and audio effect quality were also improved. Content visibility rules between discovery and recommendation surfaces were aligned, eliminating inconsistencies in how content appeared across different screens.
On the tooling side, the content authoring, review, and publishing cycle was shortened to increase iteration speed going forward. Now Playing and remote control were synchronized with actual playback state to ensure reliable behavior across all playback control surfaces.
